Repairing Homes, Revitalizing Communities, Rebuilding Lives

Serving Ingham, Clinton, and Eaton Counties in Michigan, Rebuilding Together Tri-County strengthens the lives of our most vulnerable communities by providing low-income homeowners with critical home repairs, accessibility modifications and energy efficient upgrades. Rebuilding Together's local affiliates complete about 10,000 rebuild projects every year. As we rebuild homes, community spaces and non-profit facilities our lasting impact helps to stabilize and revitalize neighborhoods across the country. We believe that everyone deserves a safe and healthy home.

The Tri-County Affiliate is led by a volunteer board and supported financially by individual donors, corporate partners, local community churches and nonprofits, and the Capital Region Community Foundation. Repair services are provided by local volunteer groups.

 MEET ONE OF OUR HOMEOWNERS!

BEA D.

April 26, 2025 Rebuild Day

Bea was born in The Corn State

of Iowa on a farm and moved to

Michigan at age 14. She met her

husband at Beeman's Super

Market, where they both worked

in the meat department (he was the meat cutter and she was the meat wrapper). She later worked for Kroger and Schmidt's Food Market and then retired after owning and running Pristine Cleaning for 17 years.

Bea and her husband (now deceased) purchased their Southside home on a quiet cul-de-sac nearly 50 years ago, where they raised their children, including an adopted niece. The family landscaped the backyard, adding a pool and deck, and this is where they enjoyed family time during the warmer months. Bea loves her Southside home because it provides easy access to "everything" while also being tucked away into a quiet neighborhood.

Bea's son and husband built the rear deck over 40 years ago and it had become unsafe for use in recent years. Rebuilding Together volunteers removed the old, rotted deck boards, posts, and stairs and built a new 12 x 21 deck with steps.  Volunteers also installed two grab bars, a hallway smoke/CO detector, ceiling tiles, and an egress window well brace.
